Hedge consists of a series of photographs depicting the dense layering of foliage in constructed and formal gardens. The shallow pictorial space of the garden foliage is presented metaphorically as a mise en scéne for potential and suggested actions. The photographs recreate the fictional and mythological space of the fabricated gardens of the past in service to a current consciousness of danger and loss. Although the scenes are outside, they often convey a sense of an interior.
